desired enduse. Also quantities of overruns, defective or off-standard
paper that is still usable.
RELEASE PAPER
Smooth, glazed paper, usually treated with silicones, to allow
adhesives to be easily removed from the paper's surface.
Solid Bleached Sulfate paperboard made from bleached kraft pulp
that is sometimes coated with clay for printing purposes and/or
coated with polyethylene(PE) plastic to make it more moisture
resistant.
Used for posters, billboards, and food cartons.
CUP PAPER
Paper made of bleached pulp that is hard sized, waxed.
Used for drinking cups.
CNNB/CCKB
Clay Coated News Back/Clay Coated Kraft Back is paperboard coated
with clay coating materials to enhance surface qualities such
as smoothness, whiteness, brightness, and printability.
Used for boxes, calendars, cards, and other advertising mediums.
FREE SHEET PAPER
Refers to paper containing 10% or less of mechanical pulp.
GROUNDWOOD PAPER
Refers to paper containing more than 10% mechanical pulp.
KRAFT LINER BOARD
High-strength paper made from sulfate pulp. It is usually made
with a naturally brown colour using unbleached pulp, but it can
also be made of bleached pulp and dyed to other colours.
Used for making packaging, such as cartons and boxes.
MILK CARTON BOARD
A hygienically clean, high strength, plastic coated food paperboard
made from bleached chemical pulp.
Used for milk cartons, and other beverages.
BOND PAPER
Name applied to a class of writing and printing paper made from
Free Sheet and cotton fibers. It has good surface, strength, and
formation characteristics.
Used for business letterheads, forms, and other printing purposes.
COATEDGROUND WOODPAPER
Refers to paper containing more than 10% mechanical pulp that
has been coated to improve printability or appearance. Less permanent
and less bright than paper made from chemical wood pulp. They
are sized, colored, finished and loaded with fillers in ways to
make them suitable for any kind of printing. Paper may be coated
one side(C1S) or coated two sides(C2S).
Used for flyers, magazines and books.
COATED FREE SHEET PAPER
Refers to paper containing 10% or less of mechanical pulp that
has been coated to improve printability or appearance. Clay(kaolin)
is predominantly used and may be applied during the manufacturing
process or on an off-machine coater. Paper may be coated one side(C1S)
or coated two sides(C2S).
Used for flyer magazines and books.
LABEL PAPER
A smooth-surfaced Free-Sheet that will readily accept gum adhesives.
Used for making various types of labels.
